Julian Lee Cheow Yew

Dr. Julian Lee Cheow Yewis the Director and ENT Head and Neck Surgeon with The ENT Practice at Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre. He brings more than 20 years of medical experience and comprehensive surgical skills to this practice, with a strong clinical focus on diseases of the sinuses and ears. He counts among the handful of Singapore-based rhinologists skilled in the management of nasal allergy, Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, and accredited to perform Balloon Sinuplasty. Dr Lee is dedicated to service excellence in health care, and balances private practice with a strong commitment to pay it forwards as Visiting Consultant to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Clinical Lecturer and Examiner with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine National University of Singapore, and Examiner with the Academy of Medicine Singapore.

Dr Lee’s training and experience spans 2 decades and 3 continents. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1991, and served in the Singapore Armed Forces where he practiced aviation medicine and aeromedical evacuation. This experience served as the inspiration and catalyst to pursue a career in ENT. Having completed ENT residency, Dr Lee was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1998, the American Academy of Otalaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 2001, and the Academy of Medicine Singapore in 2002.

Dr Lee received the Health Manpower Development Program Award from the Ministry of Health in 2002. The scholarship accorded him the privilege of subspecialty training in the United States of America as a Fellow to Professor Frederick Kuhn, a pioneer and world leader in the field of Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Image-Guided Surgery, and Balloon Sinuplasty, at the Georgia Nasal and Sinus Institute. From 2003 to 2012, Dr Lee was instrumental in establishing the nasal allergy and sinus surgery service at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Dr Lee has extensive experience in the assessment and management of ear, nose and throat conditions, and a special interest in advanced sinus surgery techniques including image-guided endoscopic sinus surgery, revision endoscopic sinus surgery for complex frontal sinus disease, anterior skull base surgery, balloon sinuplasty, inhalant allergy and immunotherapy, and maxillo-facial trauma.
