A mother of 2 lovely children, Dr. Onggraduated from the Royal Free and University College Medical School in London. She returned to live and work in Singapore after working and gaining experience in London for 5 years. She attained her postgraduate qualifications with the RCPCH, UK.
Dr Ong completed her postgraduate specialist training at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in various departments including Paediatric Medicine, Paediatric Subspecialties, Paediatric Intensive Care, Children’s Emergency as well as Neonatology. She is recognised as a Specialist in Paediatric Medicine by the SMC and SAB.
Prior to joining SBCC, she worked as an Associate Consultant in the Children’s Emergency Department at KKH.
Dr Ong has special interest in early childhood development as well as infant feeding and nutrition. She helped to revise the feeding protocol in the neonatal department, KKH in 2009. She also published an article entitled “Judicious Utilisation of Healthcare Resources – Reducing unindicated Paediatric Anaerobic Blood Cultures in a Paediatric Hospital” in the Journal of Healthcare Quality. Dr Ong is an active volunteer in the community in her own time, particularly in areas of health promotion.
